Shop for Charity

My friend Yoyo of topstitch.org fame is having her monthly donation day tomorrow, Sept. 2nd. She hand sews all these amazing products and lists them for sale in her artfire store. On most days she would profit from her sales – but once a month she chooses an organization to which she’ll donate ALL money made on items sold in her store that day.

This month’s organization is the Patrolmens Benevolent Association Widow & Childrens Fund based in NY. Please consider supporting small business and making a purchase to help raise money for this great cause! Choose from headbands, pouches, doggie blankets and more.

You can go and visit the topstitch store here:

Remember, one day only for this month’s donation day – Thursday September 2nd!! Thanks, and happy browsing (and hopefully shopping!!)

Upper East Side Green Market

Today I went to the Upper East Side Green Market. It is a small farmer's market located at Legion Park. They were having a dog day and I wish I would have known so I could have brought my chubby pup. I bought some lemons, bananas, strawberries and cucumbers.

The lemons were 4 for $1. The strawberries were $3.50. The cucumbers were 2 for $1. I can't remember how much the bananas cost but I think it was about $.50 per pound. Buying from a farmer's market is a great way to support your local farms.

The Upper East Side Market is located at Legion Park. It is held every Saturday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
Legion Park is located at: 6447 NE 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33138. It is right off of Biscayne Blvd. and NE 64th Ave. There is plenty of free parking inside of the park. The white tents are visible from Biscayne Blvd.

Divine Trash

I went over to Divine Trash which is a funky little vintage store. I felt a little odd b/c it was a really tiny space and it was just me and the girl at the register. There were a few cute dresses but I probably couldn't fit in them. I really liked some of the scarves but I felt like $15 was a little much for it. It is a small boutique located on Biscayne Blvd. and 72nd. St. It is not as cheap as your usual thrift store but it is less expensive than a department store. The place has cute shoes, handbags, accessories and even gaudy prom dresses. Stop by and check it out.
